The youngest reigning champion in combat-sports history, Halwyn Holthrop was poised to take the world of Maul Ball by storm- until outside interference got him disqualified from the championship match. Blacklisted, friendless and penniless, Halwyn nevertheless soldiers on- attempting to rally others to the cause of clearing his name, and working to make ends meet while banned from the only career he has ever known. Eventually all things come to a head, and in a small hillside hamlet he finds himself drawn into a wholly unexpected conflict...
